Jaime and I celebrated our 39th anniversary with a dinner with two couples of friends from his youth. They brought this amazing floral arrangement. Cleo joined the party after we had finished eating.

Bicentenial in our neighborhood
We took a walk through our neighborhood and the next one, Bosque Popular, to where the military parade was. Lots of crowds. Lots of flags. We came home and watched the rest of the parade and parts of the concert on television. At least it wasn't raining.

Sugamuxi reunion
Jaime graduated from high school with 23 classmates in 1957. In the picture with Maria Elena are Enrique and Gladis Caro. On the right of the picture with Jaime cut off are Gloria and Crisologo Camargo. These couple live in Bogota and we will be hosting them this Thursday for dinner. Estela and her son hosted us at their restaurant. Her husband "el gringo" Hansel is one of the 9 who have passed away. Leonel was celebrating his 70th birthday.
Paipa flood
Driving to and from Sogamoso this weekend, we saw flooding in flow lying areas near Paipa. A river overflowed and both pastures and homes were impacted but only one rural road/bridge was damaged. The cooling ponds of the coal burning thermoelectric plant also overflowed.
