We were in downtown Lima on election day and all the churches were closed. The architecture has fine wooden detail. I include a picture of the former train station and a scene from a park the teaches about the wall that once attempted to protect the city from pirates. It was taken down due to a yellow fever epidemic and a need to expand the city and include more people. At one time ony Spaniards and black slaves could sleep in the walled town.
